When you visit our website

We use cookies on our website to provide our users with a better service. We use cookies to recognise you when you come back to our site. When we recognise you, we know whether to show you things that you have already seen (such as our cookie banner).

What personal information do we collect from teachers?

Teachers enrol their schools in our courses by signing up via a form on our website (the “Sign-Up Form”) in order to receive an access code that they can share with their colleagues and pupils in order to access our courses for free (“School Access Code”).  School Access Codes reference school names and can be considered personal data when inputted by users.

When teachers complete the Sign-Up Form, we collect their name, email address and the name of their school.  Additionally, when teachers access our courses, they need to create an account with our course-hosting platform, Teachable.  To do this, teachers provide their name, email address and their School Access Code. The different personal information that we collect from teachers is together referred to as “Teacher Personal Data” in this notice.

What personal information do we collect from pupils?

If a school wants pupils to complete our courses at home (for example, during lockdown), then pupils are required to create an account on our course-hosting platform, Teachable.  This means that pupils also need to provide their name, email address and input their School Access Code (“Pupil Personal Data”).

2. How do we use your personal data?

The Data Protection Legislation requires us to have a lawful basis for processing your personal data.  We rely on legitimate interest. In this section, we explain which lawful basis we rely on when we process your personal data.

Legitimate interest:

We need to use your data for our legitimate interests or those of a third party.  This means we use your personal data in a way that you would expect us to, which does not infringe your privacy rights, such as when we store your name and email address in order to enable you to create an account on our course-hosting platform.

3. Who do we share your data with?
